Geobiology basically is the science of assessing the energy field of the earth. Today it is scientifically proven that the Earth is continuously radiating energy, There are certain pockets on earth which inherently radiate negativity, which is also known as Geopathic stress.

Geopathic stress is due to a variety of reasons. Underground streams, sewers, water pipes, electricity, tunnels and underground railways, mineral formations and geological faults distort the natural resonance of the Earth thus creating geopathic stress.

In order to understand this, there is an illustration above. This is a drawing of an underground stream, showing how the unhealthy or “black” natural energies radiating upwards from the stream, and also at 45 degrees on each side, forming three lines on the surface which contain spirals or vortices.

They radiate upwards through the floors of a house or building. There is also a lay line (many waves of “overgrounds”, from right of illustration) which focus into the centre of the spirals, forming a powerful hot spot. A black lay line will tune into a black spiral and a white lay will tune into a white spiral. The reason the stream is emitting unhealthy radiation is that the stream is polluted, or the rock/substrata above is of a type which alters the energies.

If there is a bed on one of these lines, or especially in the centre ones, the individual could become seriously ill very quickly. Depending upon frequency and the resistance of the individual to disease this works like a slow killer.

Medical Implications of Geopathic Stress

In the sensitive or weak individual, or in anyone exposed for a sufficient length of time, geopathic stress may be sufficient to overcome the body’s natural homeostatic regulation and lead into a disease spiral, presenting at first a confused non-specific symptom picture.

Measurable physiological effects of geopathic stress include changes in the electrical polarity of the cell membrane with impeded ionisation across the cell wall; altered spin oscillation and proton resonance of protein molecules; faulty hydrogen bonding; disturbed mesenchyme base regulation, hormone balance and pH values.

The most frequently found symptoms occurring at an early stage of exposure to geopathic stress, perhaps immediately upon moving to a new house, are sleep disturbances.

Pathological symptoms can include restlessness, difficulty in getting to sleep, cold or restless feet and legs in bed, asthma and respiratory difficulties at night, fatigue and lethargy, unexplained mood changes, aggression and depression,waking in the morning often feeling fatigued, with a muzzy head and backache. Children often do bed wetting and babies continuously cry.

In the 1960s, a group of doctors in Germany found that different people living in certain building over a period of several decades, developed similar health problems.

So was it the house – its location, shape, material and orientation – which caused the same health problems to the occupants?

The quest for an answer to this question gave birth to the new science of Geobiology, which studies the effects of Bio-Electromagnetic radiations emitted by various sources, including the earth, the sun and moon and the environment.

In the late 1970s, German physician Dr. Ernst Hartmann discovered grids of energy lines emanating from the earth’s surface and circumscribing the globe. These grid lines are oriented in the north-south direction at 2m intervals, and in the east-west direction at 2.5m intervals, and are now called the Hartmann Grid. The resulting energy field is termed “telluric” Bio-Electro-Magnetic (BEM) energy. The alignment of buildings, materials and even the body with respect to these energies has a distinct effect on the well-being of man.

That the existence of these energy grid lines was known in ancient times is revealed by various structures from different cultures. The old monasteries in the Himalayan region orient the houses and cells for monks in such a way that they are contained within the BEM grids in what is normally a neutral zone.

Earth’s Energy Grid – BEM-Radiations Further research revealed the interesting fact that the Earth’s magnetic field is not a blanket, but a maze of grids which are complex, but which have definite patterns. BEM grids are of four types – Major, Principal, Normal and Subsidiary. While the first three emanate grid lines perpendicular to the earth‘s surface, the Subsidiary lines are at varying angles, whose dimensions vary according to the geography of locations. The Major and Principal Grids can sometimes be kilometers apart, while the Normal Grids are found to be separated by smaller distances.

While the Major Grid Lines have a width of approx 50m to 60m, the Principal Grid Lines have a width of approx 40m to 50m, and the Normal Lines have a width of approx 6m to 8m. The Major and Principal Grid Lines contain sub-lines of radiation within them, which again emanate perpendicular to the earth‘s surface. The Subsidiary Lines which reside within the larger grids, are normally in groups of 26 pairs.

Surprisingly, the subsidiary lines are split midway between the larger grids, with 13 pairs tilted one way, and the rest tilted the other way. The exact angle of their radiation from the earth‘s surface can be measured using the Energy meter Perhaps it is this understanding of BEM grids that forms the basis for designing in the ancient Vaastu texts.
